The Assam board tries to reach all the educational goals set by them. The board prescribes the curricula, syllabus and the course of instruction for the Higher Secondary Schools. The Assam Higher Secondary Educational Council (AHSEC) tries to solve out all the problems which are a hindrance in the education. It also advices the government on the development and improvement of the Higher education. The Assam AHSEC examination Branch is responsible for conducting exams for the 12th class. HSSLC (Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate) is awarded to the students who have passed this examination which is required to pursue higher education at a degree level.
