Rama Rao, the CM of Andhra Pradesh inaugurated the Andhra Pradesh University of Health Sciences in the year 1986 at Vijayawada. It was renamed to NTR University of Health Sciences (NTRUHS) in the year 1998. With an affiliation of 184 colleges, NTR University aims at improving standards of Medical Education including research and to implement even curriculum in all courses. NTR University of Health Sciences has an MOU with Southern Illinois University School of Medicine (SIUSOM), whichhelps the student’s gets maximum exposure in the medical field. Workshops were conducted post an International conference that took place in January, 2002. NTR University has started Ph.D. courses for students who have a post graduate degree in Modern Medicine.
