Inaugurated by Late Shri Lal BahadurShastri, the then Honorable Prime Minister of India in 1965, APAU caters to students who are interested to venture in the fields of Agriculture, Veterinary/ Animal Husbandry and Home Science and Teaching, Research and Extension. It was renamed as Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University (ANGRAU) in 1966 after the eminent personality Acharya N. G. Ranga. Right from B.Sc. and B.Tech courses in Agriculture, Home Sciences, Commercial Agriculture and Business Management, ANGRAU goes further till Ph.D. courses. This University acts as an umbrella to 13 colleges and 12 Polytechnic institutes. The university also invites foreign students interested in exploring their avenues on Indian soil.
