2009 witnessed the establishment of Central University of Gujarat with an aim to impart value added education to the students. The mission is to establish as a center of excellence with social commitment, integrating modern, scientific and technological knowledge and skills with the basic human ethos and values. Professor (Dr.) R. K. Kale is the current Vice Chancellor.

Central University of Gujarat offers graduate and post graduate courses in subjects like Social Sciences, Language, Literature and Cultural Studies, International Studies, Chemical Sciences, Life Sciences, Environment and Sustainable Development.  The University follows Semester system and Choice Based Credit System (CBCS). Seminars, Workshops and Conferences are organized for students by Central University of Gujarat to give better exposure to students. The Library which homes numerous books awaits students.

Students who visit http://www.cug.ac.in/ will be able to view their results for B.A, B.Com, B.Sc, M.Com, M.Sc, MA, M.Phil and Ph.D. for the academic year 2018.
